However, the grenades are extremely bouncy and take three or four seconds to explode which makes them nigh impossible to use as precision weapons out in the open. The Rifleman's grenades can be used much like the launcher for clearing out buildings and blowing up walls. Taking cover with this weapon and sniping is sometimes preferable, since it has a large clip and short delay between rounds. It also features a zoom function, which, albeit modest, can allow you to hit enemies with its powerful shots at distances only rivaled by the scout's sniper rifle. The semi-automatic rifle can take down an enemy in two or three quick shots, making it extremely deadly at close range. In all the fun you'll be having with the grenade launcher, it's easy to forget the rifleman's primary weapon. ![]() By that time it's likely the tank's gunner will have you in its sites. It takes over three shots to fully disable an enemy tank. Grenades from the launcher can damage vehicles but should not be used to take on tanks directly. You'll notice that many people have mastered the firing of the grenade launcher - almost to the point of being able to snipe with it from high points around the map. Each grenade falls significantly as it travels, so aiming high is something you'll need to get accustomed to. One tricky element of the grenade launcher to master is its parabolic firing. A shot into a building can also clear out enemies in a flash. Its shots can blow holes in structures which makes it incredibly useful for getting at flags. ![]() The grenade launcher has many uses other than just hitting soldiers in the face. Although the reload time is very slow for the grenade launcher, if you keep mashing the trigger you'll automatically switch to your semi-auto rifle which can come in handy in a tough spot. A direct hit with the grenade launcher is an instant kill, and the splash damage can wound an enemy as well. The latter seems to be the most widely used weapon in the game, second only to the sniper rifle.
